Founded in 1947, Ellesmere Operatic Society continues to bring high-standard productions to Sheffield.

In April 2009 Ellesmere returned to the challenging yet classic well loved musical Oklahoma! Show Stoppers 2009 proved to be their best yet, containing a great mix of modern and classic show tunes.

Ellesmere Operatic Society is a member of the National Operatic and Dramatic Association. Founded in 1899, it is the main representative body for amateur theatre in the U.K.. It has a membership of some 2,400 amateur/community theatre groups and 3000 individual enthusiasts, staging musicals, operas, plays, concerts and pantomimes in a wide variety of performing venues. It aims to help amateurs achieve the highests standards of best practice and performance.
